Jose Jesus “Chuy” Banuelas, son of the late Jesus Banuelas and Ramona Ortiz, passed away at Culberson County Hospital on Tuesday, December 27 with his wife by his side, he was 75.

A celebration of life for Chuy will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2107 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Van Horn with Rev. Francisco Garza officiating.

He was born on March 5, 1941 in Chihuahua, Mexico.  Chuy moved with his family to Juarez, Mexico when he was 18. During this time, Chuy discovered his love for music and his love for the playing the accordion.  At the age of 28, he moved to Roswell, New Mexico, where he met the love of his life and later married Dolores “Lola” Franco on October 14, 1970 in which they just celebrated 46 years of marriage.

Jesus lived a very simple life, and enjoyed working on cars, spending time with his family, and continued playing the accordion until well after his retirement.

Jesus is survived by his wife of 46 years, Delores Banuelas and his four children Jesus, Michael, Esther and Melissa; as well as 12 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren.

The Banuelas family has entrusted Heritage Funeral Home in Van Horn, Texas with funeral arrangements.

Rodolfo Ramirez, 51, passed away on December 25.  Mr. Ramirez is survived by his loving wife, Annette Ramirez and daughters Savannah Ramirez, Sandie Rodriguez and Patricia Rodriguez. Son, Jonathan Ramirez, mother Amelia Ramirez, brothers Lucas Ramirez and Rogelio Ramirez.  Visitation was Friday, December 30 at Our Lady of Miracles Catholic Church with a 7:00 p.m. Vigil Service.  Funeral Mass was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 31 followed by interment at the Sierra Blanca Cemetery.  Services directed by San Jose Funeral Home, Fabens.
