Six Rbi Day For Rivera Leads Van Horn Lady Eagles Varsity Past Mccamey

Destiny Rivera drove in six on three hits to lead Van Horn Lady Eagles past McCamey 22-2 on Friday. Rivera drove in runs on a double in the first, a double in the second, and a single in the fourth.

An early lead helped propel Van Horn Lady Eagles to victory. Van Horn Lady Eagles scored on a stolen base , a double by Destiny Rivera, and a single by Celeste Mendez in the first inning.

McCamey captured the lead in the first inning. McCamey scored two runs when #11 doubled with two outs in the first inning.

Van Horn Lady Eagles took the lead for good with five runs in the first inning. In the first a runner stole home, Rivera doubled, driving in two runs, and Mendez singled, driving in one run.

Van Horn Lady Eagles scored 12 runs in the second inning. Van Horn Lady Eagles scored on a double by Marlen Ceniceros, a double by Kristianne Virdell, a stolen base , a triple by Mendez, a double by Amanda Ramirez, a double by Ceniceros, a single by Tabitha Carrillo, and a double by Rivera.

Ramirez earned the win for Van Horn Lady Eagles. She went one and two-thirds innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out three, and walking zero.

Van Horn Lady Eagles collected 25 hits. Carrillo, Virdell, Ramirez, Rivera, Makayla Torres, Ceniceros, Mendez, and Catherine Ojeda each collected multiple hits for Van Horn Lady Eagles . Virdell and Carrillo each collected four hits to lead Van Horn Lady Eagles. Van Horn Lady Eagles stole 14 bases during the game as six players stole more than one. Torres led the way with three.

#4 went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead McCamey in hits.
