Obituary— Fabian H. Carrasco

Fabian H. Carrasco passed away on January 7, 2020 in Van Horn, Texas. He was born in Monahans, Texas on November 25, 1982 to Antonio and Berta Carrasco. Fabian didn’t have any children of his own, but his nieces and nephews were his heart and soul, he always loved being a father figure to Alexander, Hector, Anthony and Ryleigh; he always remarked that they were like his “kids.” Fabian sponsored two children through the Children’s International Program, Cristian Alvarez from Guatemala and Danika Mirabueno from the Philippines. Fabian loved Astronomy and his video games. Fabian loved spending time with family and friends; they were his everything and he always prayed for their protection. Fabian will be truly missed by those whose lives he touched.

Fabian is survived by his father, Antonio Carrasco of Van Horn, his two brothers Antonio Carrasco III and his wife Maribel of El Paso and Gavino Carrasco and his wife Claudia of Seminole. He is also survived by his four sisters; Lucia Carrasco of Corpus Christi, Nellie Carrasco and her husband Jose Luis of Van Horn, Rita Carrasco of Van Horn and Germana Hernandez of Van Horn and various nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his mother Berta Carrasco.

A funeral mass was held on January 11, 2020 at Our Lady Fatima Catholic Church in Van Horn, Texas officiated by Father John Paul Madanu. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.

The pallbearers serving were: Gavino Carrasco, Alexander Garcia, Anthony Carrasco, Hector Garcia, Jose Reyes, Jose Luis Hernandez, Quinton Upchurch and Jose Salcedo. Honorary pallbearers were: Brian Arnold, Ben Gomez, Brandon Calderon, Michael Hernandez, Jonathon Mendez and Ryleigh Calderon.
