Obituary— Maria Escarcega
Maria Luisa Escarcega, age 92 passed away in Pecos, Texas on December 29, 2019. She was born on November 12, 1927 to Nicolas and Maria Medina in Candelaria, Texas. Maria was a homemaker, she loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother. She will be truly missed.
Maria is survived by her three sons: Frank Escarcega and his wife Ofelia of Deming, NM; Santos Escarcega and his wife Dina of Albuquerque, NM, and Antonio Escarcega of Juarez, MEX. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband Francisco Escarcega, her daughter Ramona Spritzer, and her parents Nicolas and Maria Medina.
A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church of Van Horn, TX on January 2, 2020 officiated by Father John Paul Madanu.
The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery. Pallbearers serving were: Joe Frank Escarcega, James Escarcega, Tony Escarcega, Jeremy Escarcega, Danial Galvan, Julian Hernandez, and Daniel Lazoya.
