Food Assistance deadline extended to August 21

Texas families that did not apply for Pandemic-EBT benefits by the end of July will have another opportunity to do so. In a press release received from Texas Senator Jose Rodriguez, D29. Applications will be accepted until August 21, 2020.

“If you attended CCAISD in the 2019-2020 school year, every student qualifies for this $285 in food assistance benefits regardless of income base”, said CCAISD Food Service Director, Marie Borrego. These children qualify along with those who receive SNAP benefits.

“With one-half million Texas children eligible, but not enrolled, I’m glad the state extended this deadline. It will give families more time to learn about the program and apply for benefits”, said Senator Rodriguez. “My office will continue to conduct outreach and assist any families who may need help verifying their eligibility or submitting their application.”

Contact Daniel Hernandez at Senator Rodriguez’ office at 432-295-0045 for directions and help.
