The Christmas and New Years’ holiday season is a time for togetherness with friends, family, and loved ones. It is almost always a time when schedules are often reduced to grant employees and staff some needed time off.

The next and final edition of the Advocate this year prints December 31. Ads, legal notices, and other submissions have an earlier deadline of December 28, by the end day. Our office will be closed next week through Christmas; however, requests to submit by the December 28 deadline will be addressed by email at [email protected].

The Advocate is proud to share our 2020 Christmas Edition with you. We hope you enjoy the traditional print sponsored by community businesses and friends. Most of our supporters feel the message of hope, and positivity is needed more than ever this season. Creative Director Dan Baeza has done a great job creating the final special edition of the year. We hope you enjoy it and share it with your family.

I would like to thank our Editor Gilda Morales for never wavering in support of the newspaper through this challenging time and donating thousands of copies of the Advocate to the elderly in Van Horn from the start of the pandemic. Assuring our most vulnerable receive the best information possible to keep them safe.

We are most grateful to Gilda (in her doctor’s hat) for the professionalism and compassion she shows us every day. And to all our healthcare providers for the message of unity aimed at lessening the coronavirus’s tragic impact.
