Obituary— Jane T. Pena
Jane T. Pena, age 84 passed away on Friday December 3, 2021, in Van Horn, Texas. She was born on August 20,1937 in Valentine, Texas, to Louis Carrasco Tarin and Isadora Sanchez. Jane was a beautiful, strong, gentle, hardworking lady, who was caring and elegant. She loved to spend time with family and friends, laughing, sharing, and listening to music.
A special note from Jane’s daughter Cora reads:
Ama, I could never thank you enough, praise you enough, or love you enough for being the wonderful mother you were. I love you so much.
Those left to cherish Jane’s memories are her daughter Cora Ann Pena and Omar Flores of Van Horn, Texas and her son Ray Pena of Ft. Stockton, Texas. She is also survived by her sister Drucilla (Sheila) Rivera, and her husband Adan Rivera of Ft. Stockton. Jane was blessed with eleven grandchildren and many nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father Louis C. Tarin, her mother Isadora Sanchez, Salvador Pena, and her daughters Mary Alice Sanchez and Nellie Hernandez.
Pallbearers serving were: Isaiah Miranda, Elijah Miranda, Ilian Flores, Izmar Flores and Isayell Flores. Honorary pallbearers were Brylan Flores and Kylo Miranda.
Visitation for Jane was held at Heritage Funeral Home on December 8, 2021, from 10am-7pm, with a rosary that followed. On Thursday, December 9, a funeral mass was held at 11am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Van Horn, officiated by Father Frank Hernandez. The burial followed at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Funeral services were entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn.
