Gaines breaks high jump record at Memorial Relays

The 2022 Van Horn Memorial Relays was held last Saturday hosting 13 schools with both the Eagles Girls and Boys taking second place and earning just over 100 points combined per team. Notable points were scored for the Girls as follows:

100 M Hurdles – Estrella Urias, 2nd place. 4×100 M Relay – Estrella Urias, Aezlynn Carrillo, Allison Bailey, and Sarah Allen, 3rd place. 4×200 M Relay – Estrella Urias, Aezlynn Carrillo, Allison Bailey, and Sarah Allen, 3rd place. 4×400 M Relay – Sarah Allen, Aezlynn Carrillo, Allison Bailey, and Elli Mendez, 3rd place. Shot Put – Emrie Garcia, 1st place, Taylor Martinez, 2nd place, Alexia Calderon, 3rd place, Faith McJobujah, 4th place, Nautica Mills, 5th place, and Charlize, 6th place. Triple Jump – Elli Mendez, 1st place. High Jump – Estrella Urias, 2nd place, Autumn Smith, 3rd place.

Notable points scored by the Boys Team: 800 M Run – Bryce Virdell, 2nd place, Jace Rowan, 3rd place. 4×100 M Relay – Bryce Virdell, Cy Garcia, Caleb Hinojos, and Frankie Ontiveros, 1st place. 4×200 M Relay – Elijah Gaines, Cy Garcia, Caleb Hinojos, and Frankie Ontiveros, 1st place. 4×400 M Relay – Bryce Virdell, Cy Garcia, Caleb Hinojos, and Elijah Gaines, 1st place. Long Jump – Bryce VIrdell, 1st place. High Jump – Elijah Gaines, 1st place.
