Beary Allen Woods, Jr. of Van Horn, Texas passed away on May 4, 2022, after an extended illness. Beary was born in Crane, Texas on December 7, 1936.
His first home was the Bill Cowden Ranch at Cherry Creek, Kent, Texas where his father was employed.
Beary is predeceased in death by his wife, Mary Clover Woods and his parents Lottie and Blackie Woods.
Beary is survived by his sons Morris Allen Woods and wife Lorraine (Lori) of Zillah, Washington and Royce Lynn Woods of Van Horn. Brothers Tim Woods of Alvord, Texas and John Paul Woods of Sutherlin, Oregon. Sisters Chance Hart of Amarillo, Texas, and Judy Roach of Comanche, Texas. Granddaughters, Taylor Lorraine Rogers (Anthony Rogers), Kylie Marie (Shawn Lee), and great-grandchildren Hayden Lorraine Rogers, Mason Anthony Rogers, and Saylor Rae Lee.
Beary graduated from Van Horn High School. He attended Tarleton University in Stephenville, Texas. Beary loved ranching and farming and spent most of his life doing one or the other. He retired from Brookshire Pecan Farms at age 80. Beary’s hobbies were gardening, woodworking , and watching rodeos.
Beary was a member of the First Baptist Church of Van Horn and a life-time member of the Bloys Campmeeting Association. A Celebration of Life is planned for a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to Bloys Campmeeting, Valentine, Texas, 79854.
