Frieda Lenore Vincent, 89, passed away at her home in San Angelo on June 28 th , 2016. She joins her
husband Shearrel, and son Jay, who preceded her in death. Frieda was the youngest child and only
daughter of Harrison and Martha Elizabeth (Helems) Williams. She was born November 7, 1926 in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Her childhood and the influence of her parents and church made her the strong,
kind woman so many knew and loved. Frieda married Shearrel in Fayetville, Arkansas in 1951 and they
enjoyed 61 years of marriage until Shearrel’s death. They moved to Van Horn in 1958 and opened
Vincent Drug, which they ran together until 1990. After losing Jay, Frieda went to cosmetology school
and became a facialist. She enjoyed running Frieda’s; it was an outlet for her, and many ladies
enjoyed the wonderful facials they received, and also the other activities, like the exercise classes and
the day of beauty. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Van Horn and a leader of
Sunday school classes for many years. Frieda’s life work included her unwavering faith in God,
faithfulness and love to her husband and family, and charity and friendliness to her community. She is
survived by her daughter Stephanie Vincent of San Angelo, her granddaughter Sheryl Uhland and two
great grandchildren, Peyton and Holden of Austin, a special cousin Florene Huffman of Albuquerque,
and several nieces and nephews. A special thank you for years of help and friendship to a very special
friend who has become like a family member, Jafria Hunter. The family would also like to thank
Hospice of San Angelo, and especially Shirley, Debbie, and Veronica, for all their love, kindness, and
excellent care.
A celebration of life will be held in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church in Van Horn, Texas on July
23 at 12 p.m. All are welcome to join the family.
