The VHHS Cross-Examination Debate team, composed of Camille Uranga and Kyle Seyffert, won 3rd place at the State Meet last week. This team, who has progressively gotten better all season, went undefeated on the first day of the meet. That moved them to the octo-finals, where they won by a 3-0 vote. In the quarter-finals, they won by a 2-1 decision, then in the semi-finals, they had their first loss. That made their record at State 6-1.
The team had an amazing season, and they are already planning for next year. They would like to extend a special thanks to Ms. Crowley, who drove them to every meet, and to Ms. Gibson who came to Austin and cheered them on, watching several of their rounds. When you see the students around town, please congratulate them, and let them know how proud we are of them and their success.
