Chris Balcazar ropin’ and ridin’

Van Horn native, Christopher Balcazar was more than elated this past weekend when he accomplished a first place win with his teammate Bodie Means of Valentine in the Frontier Days #12 team roping event.
Balcazar started roping with his brother Fred about two years ago. Another win for Balcazar came with a second place standing at the Horse Center in Odessa. Extenuating circumstances did not allow his brother to compete with him at both events he has now won in.
Balcazar resides in Odessa where he is raising three daughters, Dez, Deandra and Saydee, with his wife Misty. “ First, I would like to thank God”, he said. “I would also like to thank my many supporters over the years which includes my family and friends”, he concluded.
