County’s active COVID-19 cases at 4

The Department of State Health Services (DSHS) website is reporting 16 people testing positive for COVID-19 in Culberson County as of yesterday afternoon, August 5. Of these 16 cases, 4 remain active, 10 have recovered with no change in the total of fatalities, 2, from last week at press time.

All data is provisional and subject to change per DSHS Disclaimer. Probable cases are not included in the total case numbers.

Neighboring Hudspeth County has 2 active cases of the 22 total positive cases including 18 recovered and 2 fatalities. Of the 8 cases reported in Jeff Davis County, 2 remain active and 6 have recovered and there are 0 fatalities. Of the 143 positive cases in Reeves County, 57 are active, 81 have recovered and 4 fatalities remain.

Although the number of positive cases in Brewster County has climbed to 186, only 27 are listed as active with 157 recovered and 2 fatalities remain to date. Presidio County has reported 45 positive cases with 18 active, 26 recovered, and 0 fatalities remain to date.
