The Van Horn Eagles began their season and six man campaign last Friday against the Sanderson Eagles. The Eagles took to the field full of emotion, excitement and a little bit of uncertainty in not knowing what to expect for their first six man game. After a bit of a slow start your Van Horn Eagles got their offense and defense running. Sanderson scored first in the first quarter. Van Horn responded on the very next drive with a touchdown and never fell behind Sanderson again. At the end of the 4th quarter your Van Horn Eagles emerged victorious by a score of 40-20 over Sanderson.

“Our kids played extremely hard. We were all nervous, coaches and players alike, with this new format and style of game. The athletes have and continue to give the team all they have. We saw some areas of strength to build upon as well as some weaknesses we will shore up as we continue to work, build and improve together. Overall as a staff we were very excited for our boys. Their hard work and dedication, even in something brand new, was evident Friday night. We would like to thank the fans for their continued support of all of our student athletes. Eagle Pride Never Dies!”

The Eagles will be on the road to take on the Garden City Bearkats this Friday at 7:30 pm in Garden City, Texas.
