Obituary— Alberto Q. Olivas
Alberto Q. Olivas “Beto” entered eternal rest on July 2, 2021, in El Paso, Texas. He was born on October 2, 1975, in Van Horn, Texas, to Manuel and Isabel Olivas. He was 45 years young.
Those left to cherish Beto’s memories are his father Manuel Olivas, his sister Lori Haynes and her husband David, his three brothers: John Downing and his wife Carmen, Larry Downing and his wife Griselda and Jesus Olivas. He is also survived by four nephews, four nieces, several aunts and uncles and numerous cousins. Dolores and Jesusita Quintana and his paternal grandparents Juan and Maria Olivas.
Beto was a lifetime resident of Van Horn, graduating from Van Horn High School. He loved horseback riding and raising cattle and goats and spending time at the family ranch. He had a passion for cooking, barbecuing and hanging out with his friends and family. Beto was a friendly, loving and hardworking guy. He made friends easily and always cared for his friends and family. Beto will be greatly missed by everyone he touched.
Visitation for Alberto “Beto” Olivas will be on Thursday, July 8th, from 12 noon to 5pm at Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn. A service will also be held on Thursday from 7pm to 9 pm at The Seventh Day Adventist Church, 704 NW Frontage Road in Van Horn.
There will be a viewing on Friday, July 9th from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. followed by a funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 700 W. Desert Street. Burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery. A funeral service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Friday July 9, 2021. Pastor Jose Padilla of El Paso, Texas will officiate. The burial will follow at the Van Horn Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving are: Obed Downing, Beto Guillen, Cesario Quintana, Aaron Baeza, Salvador Quintana, Cain Quintana, Jesse Flores and Robert Alvarado
Funeral services are entrusted to Heritage Funeral Home of Van Horn, Texas.
