Obituary— Kenneth Ray Beasley

Kenneth Ray Beasley, age 83, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2021, in his home in Roswell, New Mexico, surrounded by his family. He was born in Fabens, Texas, on July 15, 1937.  He graduated from Van Horn High School in 1955 and went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army for 3 years.

Kenneth was the eldest child of Earl and Leta Mae Beasley.  He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Kathryn Ann Foley Beasley, his children Kenneth Jr. (Sharon), Scott, and Sara Knight (Jon); his siblings Robert Beasley (Ida Mae), Laverne Lawrence and sister-in-law, Kathy Beasley. His youngest brother, Virgil, preceded him in death.  “Poppy” was also blessed with four grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.  

Kenneth LOVED his family fiercely and delighted in spending time with them playing games, cooking, telling stories, teasing and laughing. He also loved all animals (especially dogs), building and fixing things and was an accomplished woodworker and craftsman.  He was an encouragement and gave calm, wise advice when needed. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Roswell, NM. 

A graveside service for Kenneth will be held Friday, July 9th, 2021, at 10:00 am in Van Horn, Texas.
