Obituary— Maria De La Luz Gomez
Maria De La Luz Gomez, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on January 13, 2023, in Van Horn, Texas. She was born in Van Horn on August 19, 1944, and was a lifelong resident.
Survivors include sister Florinda and husband Robert Gomez, sister Olivia Gomez, sister-in-law Lorina Gomez, and 4 nieces- Vonnie Walker, Mandy DeAngelis, Rosemary Gomez, and Lorina Carrasco; 2 nephews- Pete Gomez and Fabian Gomez; 7 great nieces and 4 great nephews. Maria De La Luz is preceded in death by her parents Preciliano and Otilia Gomez, brother Kito Gomez, and sister Ernestine Gomez.
Pallbearers are her nieces and nephews- Vonnie Gomez (Diana Gomez), Pete Gomez, Mandy DeAngelis, Rosemary Gomez, Lorina Carrasco, and Fabian Gomez.
Services will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 308 Almond St. in Van Horn, on
Friday, January 20, 2023. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m.. followed by the Rosary at 11:00 a.m.. and Mass at 12:00 p.m. Officiating at the Rosary and Mass will be Father Frank Hernandez.
Maria will then be laid to rest at the Van Horn Cemetery.
