The Van Horn Eagles faced off against the Irion County Hornets last Friday in the 2017 Homecoming game.  The stadium was packed with fans and alumni, all cheering for the Eagles in this crucial District matchup.  The Eagles put up some amazing stats, but in the end were defeated by a final score of 37-50.  The loss moved their record to 1-6, 0-2 in District with slim playoff hopes.

Jr QB David Corrales scored two touchdowns and went 9/20, 126 yards passing; and rushed 13 times for 95 yards.  The offense posted their best performance of the season and amassed 407 yards of total offense.  Isaac Baeza, the All-State lineman who normally paves the way for rushing touchdowns scored three touchdowns on the ground for the Eagles.

The Eagles will hit the road and make the long trip to Iraan to square off against the Braves.  All fans are encouraged to make the trip as they begin to close out District play.  See you at the game, Go Eagles.
