The Van Horn Eagles closed out the 2017-2018 season at home in a thriller against the Wink Wildcats.  The Eagles gave their best performance of the season, but suffered a 32-24 loss.  They finish the season at 1-8, 0-4 in District, and will not advance to the post-season.

The Eagles were aggressive early, and scored the first points of the game on a 1 yard run by OL/RB Isaac Baeza.  Wink fired right back, and then SO WR Rudy Estrada returned a kickoff 77 yards for a score.  JR QB David Corralez scored the final Eagle touchdown in the fourth quarter, but Wink held on for the win.

Head Coach Brock Tyrrell said, “The Eagles played their hearts out and left every ounce of hustle on the field Friday night. They played together as one unit. They believed in each other,  and never gave up.  I am proud of these young men.”

Congratulations on a great season Eagles and coaches, and best wishes to the Seniors.
