Culberson County Sheriff’s Department was the recipient of first responder equipment valued at more than $40,000 last week. Permian Road Safety Coalition from Midland, Texas, donated the equipment to local law enforcement as well as to other counties which have oil field traffic, including Reeves and Pecos County. The purpose of the donation was to give deputies and Sheriffs the necessary tools to provide potentially life-saving measures in emergencies, since they are usually the first on the scene, before fire and EMS.

Sheriff Oscar Carrillo expressed his gratitude to the company for the equipment which included extrication devices, portable lighting, portable flashing flares, large fire extinguishers capable of putting out vehicles or other large fires, and H2s monitors in case of toxic chemical spills. Sheriff Carrillo stated that his department would make good use of the equipment which would be invaluable in saving lives.
