Active cases in Culberson County on the rise

Culberson County experienced an increase in its COVID-19 cases over the past week. 15 new cases have been confirmed since the beginning of September according data from the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

As of Wednesday, the county has 16 active cases along with 20 recoveries and one death. An additional death was previously reported however local officials clarified that second death was not from a county resident. There has been a total of 38 positive cases since tracking began in March.

City, county and statewide mandates are still in place for residents to wear facial coverings when in public spaces and prohibit the gathering of large crowds. DSHS continues to advise residents to wash and sanitize hands often and practice social distancing in order to limit the spread of COVID-19.
