You still have time to file for city council and school board positions in Van Horn.
Applications to file for a place on the ballot opened on Jan. 13 for those wishing to serve on the city council or school board. The deadline to file an applications is Friday, Feb. 12. Election Day is Saturday, May 1, 2021.
The following is a roundup of local positions up for election:
Town of Van Horn— City Council
In the city council race, three (2-year term) spots are up for election this year. Those spots are currently held by Lyndon McDonald, Joseph Corrales and Karolyne Carloss respectively.
Culberson County-Allamoore School District— Board of Trustees
In the school board race, voters will be electing two (3-year term) trustees. The seats held by Jodi Corralez and Eddie Seyffert are up for election.
