The candidate slate is set for the coming May 6, 2023 local elections with the passing of the filing deadline at 4 pm on Friday, February 10.
Six candidates will be on the ballot in the City Officer contest for the three city council seats. Incumbents Lyndon McDonald, Rene Mendoza, Jr., and Joseph Corrales have all filed for reelection. According to city hall, Laura Reyes, Emilio Yglecias, and Sandra A Cabezuela have filed.
And, in the School District election for two seats on the board of trustees, the candidate lineup attracted only three candidates. Incumbent Letty Hernandez, Jenna Flores, and Rocio Urias Apgar filed to run for those seats.
The election race cards are now set and the campaigning begins for the May 6 election races. Early voting for both elections will be held at City Hall from April 24 to May 2.
