Sheila Gilmore is the newly appointed county chairman for the
Republican Party. In accepting the challenging assignment, Gilmore said,
“I'll do my best to organize local conservatives who will work at
getting this viewpoint recognized within the Van Horn community.”
If your political leaning tends to be conservative, then becoming
affiliated with this local Republican group may be for you. The group
believes that there are numerous issues within our community, state and
federal governments that require a more conservative viewpoint and this
local group will certainly be the place for you to get these views
expressed.
The group had their first organizational meeting last Monday evening
and pledged to hold meeting on the third Monday of each month. The next
meeting will be held on Aug. 19 in the meeting room of the Hotel El
Capitan. Finger foods will be served, and everyone is welcome.
