Local sales tax shows another 30-plus increase

(AUSTIN) — Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose taxing districts $762.5 million in local sales tax allocations for March, 0.5 percent less than in March 2020. These allocations are based on sales made in January by businesses that report tax monthly.

The Texas Comptroller’s Office reports Van Horn’s collection during the month increased 34.5 percent year over year.
